How can I find a job on a movie shooting in Pittsburgh?
A:

Job opportunities (paid, unpaid, deferred pay and student films) are listed on the Hotline section of this website under "job opportunities" or you can call the 24-hour automated Hotline at 412-281-3343.  The Hotline is updated weekly or as new information becomes available. Be sure to check the hotline every week for new opportunities.

Q:
How can I put a listing on the PFO hotline?
A:

Hotline listings can be faxed to 412-471-7317 or emailed to info@pghfilm.org.

Please provide the listing, as you want it read, with general information:
* Name of the Event
* Contact
* Date/Deadline

There is no charge to post on the hotline. Listings must be received by 9 a.m. EST on Mondays to be included on that week's update. (9 a.m. Tuesday if Monday is a holiday.)

How can I find job opportunities with the Pittsburgh Film Office?

We're sorry, but at this time there are no paid positions available with the PFO.

Q:
Does the PFO offer internships?
A:

Yes, unpaid internships are offered every semester. You must be a full-time college student receiving credit and should be able to give two or three days totaling 12-15 hours to the office. Duties include administrative projects, maintaining locations photo files, researching trade publications and helping the office update files for the southwestern Pennsylvania region.

Deadlines for applying:
* Fall Term: August 15
* Spring Term: December 15
* Summer Term: May 1

Please note: The internship relates to the marketing and administrative aspects of the film industry and does not focus on production, i.e. directing, editing, screenwriting.

How can I become an intern on a movie set?
A:

The PFO does not arrange film set internships. However, if a production is filming, there is a possibility that the production company will offer internships.

Internship opportunities on films being shot in southwestern PA, including unpaid and paid internships, are listed on the Hotline section of this website under "internships" or you can call the 24-hour PFO hotline at 412-281-3343, which is updated weekly or as new information becomes available.

THe PFO does not publish a list of films currently shooting or upcoming in the area and locations for productions are not made public. Please call our hotline at 412-281-3343 or visit our website, www.pghfilm.org, for opportunities and casting calls.

How can I get permission to use one of the Fee-Free locations?
A:

For information on filming at one of our many state-owned and fee-free locations, please call our office at 412-261-2744 and we would be happy to assist you in explaining the requirements and processes for the various properties throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.

Q:
How can I get my house/property considered for location shoots?
A:

The PFO houses an extensive library of more than 20,000 location files that are accessed by filmmakers across the country interested in southwestern Pennsylvania. If you wish to have your house or property included in our library, please send several 4x6 color photos of the property with written descriptions and information on who to contact on the back of each photo.
