CASTING CALL for SHORT FILM - PAID ROLES!

Seeking 3 actors for a short independent film being produced in the Pittsburgh area between May and July. Roles will be compensated up to $100 based on screen time. Meals will be provided on each set, and all actors will receive an IMDB credit. Below are brief character descriptions.

TIM - Main character, mid-twenties, a bit of a dupe, levelheaded, wants to do good.

SARAH - Mid-twenties, recent drug addict, always looking for the easy way out, somewhat manic behavioral traits.

SAM - Older, perhaps 50's to 70's, homeless, humbled, has been through a lot.

Sam's scenes will require about a day of filming, while Sarah and Tim's will require approximately 3 to 4, respectively. Filming will take place primarily on weekends and will require full days. Actors MUST be able to commit.

Casting Call - Paid Roles

Seeking 2 actors, male or female, to portray employees in a couple industrial videos.

Must be able to play 30-40 age range.

Both roles will pay $100 each, and lunch will be provided.

Casting Call

A feature length anthology fantasy film by world famous painter Dorian Cleavenger and sponsored by Douglas Education Center is looking to cast a girl 10 to 13 years old to play the sister of a “monster”, Billy. The film will be produced at the Douglas Education Center in Monessen.

WHAT:
Sparkle - 20-something female. Sparkle is caring, friendly and genuinely sweet.
Teenie - 20-something female. The sharp-tongued, quipster of the group. Unafraid to say what's on her mind or talk trash.
Angel - 20-something female. Angel is tough, edgy, and won't back down. She's protective of the other girls and is the go-to right-hand woman to the ring-leader of the group, Nancy.
Ginger-Lynn - 20-something female. Ginger-Lynn is very sultry, confident and somewhat self-absorbed.
Amanda -  20-something female. Amanda is the quintessential "good girl." She is innocent, naive, jumpy and easily scared.
Kat - 20-something female. The Fearless HBIC. Stone-faced, intimidating, she's the regional leader of the all-female bike gang.
Guy - 20-something-30-something male. Guy on the street who cat-calls random women.
Yinzer (Angel's Dad) - 50 something yinzer. Grumpy, blue-colored, with a gruff, no-nonsense demeanor. Should be comfortable smoking a cigar.
Big Alien - Age open. A tall person will work well in this role, preferably over six foot. Must be willing to wear a full-coverage costume for long stretches of time and have the ability to gesticulate with emotion/ convey meaning through movement. Dancers welcomed to apply.

WHEN: Shooting in June.

Actors needed for Web Series

The Kyle Switch, a new media web series is seeking actors.

TYLER (18+ to play 16), he is tall and cute, perfectly smooth face and dressed well. TYLER has light colored hair and an innocent smile. He’s not ostensibly 16, but he hardly looks 21. Tyler told Kyle he was 18 to sleep with him. He’s aware of the issue, but isn’t some conniving liar, he’s a young adult totally capable of decision-making. But when he meets Kyle and the talk becomes reality, he’s terrified.

KEVIN (25-28), an attractive guy, noticeably older than KYLE, he has some scruff, he isn’t a body-builder but he is sculpted like a well-taken-care-of young professional. Kevin lost his virginity to Kyle when he was 26. Kevin is an NYU graduate, but his life hasn’t been so simple.

KRISTEN (23), she has longer flowing hair, eyes that are grey and blue and piercing like shards of glass. She is Kyle’s best friend, and Brandon’s girlfriend. Her role is small in episode one but expands in the next few episodes. Kristen is Kyle’s most honest confidant; she loves him, but doesn’t let him get away with things as much.  

Story: Kyle is a great guy, he is the guy that everyone calls for help and advice, but Kyle has the greatest of habits to make monumental mistakes that tend to hurt people or him. In this episode Kyle meets Tyler on Grindr, Tyler says he is 18, but before Kyle finds out, it’s already too late.

Casting for Science Fiction Short "Meet Your Maker"

We are casting for the science fiction short "Meet Your Maker" which will be shot on scattered dates in early-mid May into June in and around the Pittsburgh area. 

We are seeking males age 25 - 65, and females 20-35 for five available roles, none which would require more than 3-4 days of filming. 

Both SAG and non-SAG actors welcome, as the film is SAG registered. 

All actors will be paid.

Calling all male local actors for Advanced Directing short, "For Better Or For Worse" at Point Park University

Synopsis:
When David begins packing away boxes in his attic, he encounters Vanessa, a ghost who haunts his house after being murdered by her husband. She taunts him to the point where he is forced to make an agreement with her - that they can both share the house at their leisure. Although he tries his best to stay sane and deal with reality, he has to give in to the fact that he's not getting rid of her ghostly figure.  

Casting "Arms and the Man"

Casting "Arms and the Man," a film in which a group of criminals, seeking refuge and medical attention after an affray with the local authorities over a gun possession charge, take over the farm of a country veterinarian and attempt to secede from the U.S. 

Filming this summer. Shooting on black-and-white 35mm film.

Roles:

Lowell (Lead): the leader of the group, fleeing from a gun possession charge, who seeks refuge at the farm of the veterinarian. Responsible for making the decision to stay and arm themselves, he becomes the reluctant overlord of the gang. Not formally educated, but raised in the culture of rural Appalachia. Caucasian; Age 30-45; Slim to medium build.

Aloysius (Supporting): Lowell's friend who's injured at the beginning from the exchange of gunfire with the authorities. A loudmouth brute, he grows to resent Lowell's leadership position and becomes the greatest antagonistic force inside the farm. Caucasian; Age 30-45; Large build.

Michael (Supporting): An old friend of Lowell's who arrives on the farm on a motorcycle under the guise of Lowell's 'legal advisor.' Mischievous and apparently learned, he stands in contrast to the others and acts as Mephistopheles to Lowell's Faust, goading him into his more extreme decisions. Caucasian; Age 30-45; Medium build.

Jim Burd (Supporting): A backwoods tinkerer, Jim Burd is like a quiet warrior, completely dedicated to Lowell's plans and fashions weapons from parts found around the property for the purpose. Caucasian; Age 30-45; Medium build.

 DESCRIPTION:

We Are Monsters is an unconventional monster movie about three young people that are independently transforming into strange, animal-like creatures. It is a coming of age tale about outsiders that is strange, dark, and ultimately hopeful.

 PLOT:

The film alternates between two stories: one concerns Morgan (16), who is transforming into a bat-like creature that can survive only on the blood of live animals. As his transformation worsens, he flees his home and meets an isolated loner named Jake (16) who is an anthropomorphic rabbit. Jake lives in a vast, abandoned building in the woods, and he takes Morgan in because they are both outcasts.

 TONE:

The tone is intensely dramatic and surreal. The film will walk the line between horror and humor and between irony and sincerity. It touches on themes relating to faith, sexuality, and isolation. While the story is quite bizarre, it takes itself seriously. The end product will be a totally unique, yet moving story.

LEAD ROLES:

 MORGAN – A 16-year-old boy who is turning into a bat-like monster. The actor should be at least 18 years old, but look younger.

JAKE – A 16-year-old human/rabbit hybrid that lives alone in the woods. The actor should be at least 18 years old, but look younger.

SUPPORTING ROLES:

MARTHA – A deaf teenage girl who communicates with American Sign Language. The actor does not need to be fluent in sign language, but will learn lines for the film. The actor should be at least 18 years old, but look younger.

CATHY – An older teenage girl who sings backup in a Christian band.The actor must be able to play acoustic guitar.

MARY – Cathy’s sister, about the same age, who also sings backup in the band. She plays the tambourine.

AUDREY – An older teenage girl and member of the band. The actor must be able to play the drums.

 BROOKE – An older teenage girl and member of the band. The actor must be able to play an electric bass.

Local filmmaker seeks individuals who have suffered/are suffering an eating disorder for an upcoming documentary film

Looking for individuals who would be willing to speak on-camera about the feelings and difficulties of living with ED; not looking to investigate day-to-day details of the disorder itself. 

The film is focused on the representatives of altered imagery in the digital age, as well as the emotional ramifications of living with an eating disorder. 

The filmmaker would be happy to take measures during the interview to obscure anyone's identity, if desired.
