This same path leads her to face her own issues of love, hope and romance.

SEEKING ACTORS FOR LOCAL SHORT FILMS

Donna Belajac Casting is looking for actors for several short films being produced for "Neighborhood Narratives," which will celebrate Pittsburgh's diverse neighborhoods. The filmmakers were chosen for their special connections to the neighborhoods featured in their films. Here is the first of several casting calls.

CHARLIE, a 70-ish Korean Era War Veteran who drives a 1991 Olds Cutlass with a front license plate that reads Charlie's Ride. Speaks English with a South Side accent and can also speak a Slavic language. He's lived on the South Side his whole life. Charlie is spry enough to hop in and out of his car. He has enough of the ex-marine in him to consider tangling with Mohawk, a twenty-something Asain guy from the neighborhood.

MOHAWK:  A 20-something Asian man, preferably with a Mohawk or hair that can be cut into one, new to Charlie's south side block.  Mohawk drives a Toyota Scion or a Mini Cooper, multi-tasks with a cell phone and can speak an Asian language fluently, but also speaks English, albeit with a moderately heavy accent.  He sports somewhat punkish clothing. He's a neo-hipster part of the new wave of South Side immigrants. The haircut and his clothing are the only threatening things about him.

FLORAL DUSTER:  A 80-ish South Side resident, 70's - 80's, and Charlies' next-door neighbr.  Floral keeps her stoop and sidewalk clean, and keeps an eye on the neighborhood. She speaks a mixture of broken Englisha and a Slavic language.  Floral is feisy and animated. She grabs Mohawk by the arm and marches him down the street and uses her physicality when her language fails her.

FILMING WILL TAKE PLACE IN JUNE. THIS IS A PAYING JOB AND UNION MEMBERS ARE WELCOME TO APPLY. INTERESTED ACTORS SHOULD CONTACT DONNA BELAJAC VIA PHONE OR EMAIL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
