Thank you for your interest in DESSERT DESERVED!

We are looking to cast TWO (2) FEMALE ACTORS (18 – 25) and ONE (1) FEMALE ACTOR (35 – 45) for the following roles:

JULES (18) – LEAD
Jules is an 18-year-old girl struggling with anorexia and the pain of a past relationship. She is a fighter: stubborn, strong, and stoic, yet she retreats into herself when she is forced to confront her overbearing mother and the skeletons in her closet.

SHERRI (40s – 50s) – SUPPORTING
A product of her time and upbringing, Sherri treats her daughter Jules the same way her mom treated her: she “doesn’t want to hear it.” To cover up her own insecurities, she uses enough skincare products to fill a Sephora.

MAURA (18) – SUPPORTING
For Jules, Maura wears many hats. As an ex-best friend, ex-maybe-girlfriend, and, most recently, ex-secret-keeper, her relationship with Jules is complicated. Dark, moody, and unrelenting, her caustic memory continues to haunt Jules to this day

These roles are UNPAID, but MEAL, TRANSPORTATION, and COPY will be provided. All shooting locations will be in PITTSBURGH.

PLEASE SUBMIT A SELF-TAPE OF 1 – 3 MINUTES IN LENGTH. YOUR SELF-TAPE CAN BE ANY MATERIAL YOU WANT, theatrical or commercial. Keep in mind that it will help to try to match the tone of “Dessert Deserved” and/or the role.

*NOTE: THIS PROJECT ENTAILS DISCUSSIONS OF SELF-HARM, EATING DISORDERS, AND LGBTQ+ RELATIONSHIPS. DO NOT SUBMIT FOR THESE ROLES IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THESE TOPICS.

Good luck, and have fun! We look forward to reviewing your submissions!
Sincerely, the Dessert Deserved Crew
