Movie Extras Pittsburgh has announced an open casting call for extras for “You Are My Friend,” starring Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers and Matthew Rhys as the Esquire journalist who wrote the 1998 profile the film is based on. It is being filmed in Pittsburgh this fall.
The casting call takes place on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Downtown. The studio is looking for babies, children, teenagers and adults of all ages and ethnicities.
The extras will fill background roles as New York and Pittsburgh pedestrians, ballroom party guests, journalists, business men and women, wedding guests, bar and restaurant patrons, and more.
