Director Rosie Haber explores the history of Braddock, from the Edgar Thomson Works’ impact on residents’ respiratory health to racial dynamics, economic depression and modernization.
Local residents featured in the webisodes, which run 6 to 11 minutes each, include filmmaker Tony Buba, urban farmer Robert Gray, fourth-generation resident Isaac Bunn and Summer Lee, the focus of “Summer,” who is running for the state legislature in Pennsylvania’s 34th House District.
Ms. Haber brings a distinctive visual style to “Braddock,” with an emphasis on slow-motion, sometimes static camera work and unnatural colors.
