Student seeking actors for spooky short film:

Have you ever seen those old-fashioned posters for magic shows from the early 20th century? There were often little red imps on the posters, helping the magician perform his tricks. Of course, no theologian takes this type of devilish imagery seriously. Which makes it the perfect disguise for real demons!

The goal of “Impish” is to get people to think about how we sort out truth from lies. What makes something believable, or unbelievable? Sherlock Holmes famously said, “Once you rule out the impossible, whatever remains must be the truth.” But in a world where the supernatural exists, you can’t even rule out the impossible. Then what do you do?

We’re looking for 3 actors to play:

– Father Anthony, a middle-aged priest who serves as a teacher at a Catholic school. He tries to make his theological lessons entertaining, but doesn’t want to put any wrong ideas into the students’ heads.

– Quentin, a 13-year old student of a different teacher. His own teacher has brought up the subject of demons in class, but Quentin wants a second opinion.

– Imp, a demon whose appearance is such a cartoonish stereotype that it can’t be real. Or can it? Hoping to befriend Quentin, the Imp should appear to be the same age.

Filming should take place between November 15-24.

This is a student project without pay.
